Reminiscing: School Presentations
Of course when it comes to school there are always some presentations for projects or recitations or just presentations you got your teacher to agree too.
My oldest memory of school presentation was my grade 4 years. Well grade 4 was the level where I started to have presentation just for a class, not those major ones. I remember having to prsent the Charlotte's Web chapter with or without a script and/or present the outline of the chapters and other things. I also remember the final presentation for English. There were two actually one for Language and another for Reading. In Language we had to do this script about wrong grammar and such but if we forget our lines we would just have to make our own. I still have my script up to know. In reading we had to present the whole Charlotte's Web without looking at the script! Now that was tough.
When I was in grade 5, we were introduced to Oral Exams. We always had this presentation in CL.....I also remember in Filipino we had one about butterflies I think but I don't know if it was grade 5 or grade 6.I rememebr in Reading we presented the story of Pahiyas Festival were we had our own Halbutan. Also, the poem about the spider and the fly and the Stone and the BAg of Gold; I remember this one bacause Melvin was with Bernise and another smart one in our class, they got 95 and after that Melvin started to sing his version of "Because of You", which was "Because of me we got 90, thank you for narrating the story." we just had to laugh. In Heakasi we had our own reporting about the topics we had discussed. Well, there was a moajor presentation when I was in Grade 5, it was the foundation day celebration which was about the Stage of the Nation. The grade 5 were included in the Declamation, Talumpati, Speech Choir and Sabayang Bigkas. So for the Declamation and Talumpati we were given a piece by Ms. Jo for English and Ms. Ecy for Filipino we had to recite it with feeling for our Oral Exams and it was like an Elimination for the contest. I really didn't know I was chosen because I was absent when Ms. Jo announced the participants for the Declamation Contest. Bernise, Cedric, Stephanie and I were the chosen participants. For the Talumpati it was Kamille and Thea. We were still included in the Speech Choir but in the Sabayang Bigkas we weren't anymore because as Ms. Ecy puts it "Baka kung anu pa ang masabi nila". All in all grade 5 was a busy year.
Fort Filipino grade 5 and 6, cause I forgot what happened for each year. I remember having to dress like a fairy for a presentation. I also remember reporting about the different parts of a book. In that presentation I started bringing prizes for those who can answer my questions, it just hit me that my classmates participate more hwen they know they'll get something in return, I got that when I wanted to participate so that I could answer the reporter's question. I also remember presenting for the Oral Exams about a story of "Panibagong Buhay". Again I remember a lay about courage and I was the leader and script writer and would you believe that I wrote nothing for myself to say in the play. I also borrowed some props for that one. So I think that's all I can remember for the Filipino presentations.
For Grade 6, now this is a question. I remember Oral Exams about a story, just can't remember other presentation after that. I do remember prsenting some stories again I just can't remember. Well we did present a dance for the foundation day. I remember Filipino presentations that I am sure was Grade 6. The monologue, the commercial with Luis as my partner. We had a major presentation in Grade 6, and it was a Radio Play of the Prince and the Pauper where I played Miles Hendon.Well, that's it.
For my Freshmen Years, I remember the First Year Monologue commercial. The Filipino Ibong Adrana small presentations(chapters), an English Story about legends, of course the grandest of them all would have to be the Blessed are the Children I think was the title, radio play for english and of course our Ibong Adarna presentation for Filipino. We also had some CL presentation one in the first Quarter and another in the third quarter. In Science, (yes you read right) we had some small skits about pollution and of course the project for the 4th quarter wherein we had to present our topic. In RHGP, we had a presentation of the story in our book, which we presented with our science lab group.
For my Sophomore Years, I remember having presentations for A.P. about the different Chinese Dynasties and the Vietnam Government. Some small skits for Filipino. I also remember having a CL presentation for 3rd Quarter, some short English Presentations about the story we read and commercials we had to spoof and a situation we had to act out. We made a song out of two poems, the poem about woman and the "Tree" by Joyce Kilmer. Again, the Science project and some small skits about pollution and the consequences. And of course the grandest of them all, the Filipino Presentation of the Florante and Laura.
Well, Junior Life is still on going but while I have my memory I'll write what have I already experienced. A lot of small skits for English, small Filipino skits as well, Cl Reporting for lessons, A.P. presentations (previous post) RHGP song, that will be coming up pa not yet done, the BOOK TALK...and well that's not yet finished....
School or Class presentation are fun yet stressful sometimes, but in the ned there something you always want to remember.
A.P. Presentatiom----Ancient Egypt
I like Ancient Egypte, well History of Ancient Egypt. In our A.P. (History) Class, our adviser and teacher, Ms. Mau asked us to present our topic and this would be our project grade. I was in the leader of the first group, which was assigned for the Old Kingdom. What we did was somekind of role playing at first I wanted them to be pharaohs but they didn't have any costume and there were to many girls so I decided to make my groupmates and I egyptologists with a major on the pharaoh we are reporting. After the presentation, we had a litle question and answer and gave a way some prizes, but the 5 most participative had a much bigger prize but they had to look for it because we had a treasure hunt. I made clues and scattered it all over the AVR. It was awsome! I really like to thank my groupmates Jeysa, Danilo, Vina, Roselle, Carlos and Jonica; couldn't have done it witnout you guys!
Anna's Group did what I originally planned but with a different twist, she and Jasmine(a member of her group) were magically transported into the land of egypt at the time of the Middle Kingdom (their topic). There they met important pharaohs of the Middle Kingdom and one of their helpers Stephanie (her name in the presentation escapes me). Stephanie was part of the Hyskos that invaded Egypt. Jasmine had this assignment about them that's why Anna said that maybe she should wear her grandmother's necklase because Jasmine wanted to talk to the pharaoh's face to face. They did but the audience have to answer and ask questions so that Anna and Jasmine could get home. Eventually they did with Stephanie along with them. Anna, Thea, Jasmine, Stephanie, Junnel, Derrick and Bojo did an excellent job! Thanks for the Award again.
The last group that presented were Tina's group. John Paul was a thief before but when he had an experience, he reformed. His experience was.....He went to a museum during the afternoon so he could look at the things he wants to steal. Would you believe that he wanted to steal the Egyptian exhibits! Night time came, and the statues of the egyptian pharaoh's came to life! (like noght at the musuem) They told John Paul all about their lives. Then they realised that John Paul was a thief so thye send him away then had a party. After that they asked some questions then we asked some questions.
All presentations were great and perfect as Ms. Mau said. I love Ancient Egypt. All the presentation were awsome and I wish I just brought my camera.......
